SYBASE hints at groundbreaking new version of ASA for SaaS Vendors!!!

One of the unchallenged strengths of ASA has always been and continues to be its scaleability. Sybase continues to build this with a range of new features in its forthcoming new release of ASA show cased in the European Tech Day events.

But one session about data management for the cloud went one step further. The presenter explained about a new design partnership programme for a future version of ASA codename “Fuji” which will allow SaaS platform operators use a single logical installation manage many thousands or eeeen hundreds of thousands of physcally separate customer specific data bases.

This will solve tone of the critical scaleability problems for SaaS vendors while meeting the many contraints such as regulatory requirements or the need for customisations that prevent the use of a single shared database for many customers.

It shows that while other vendors like ORACLE have started to become complacent SYBASE has taken up the challenge to create the database platform elements for the future of enterprise software for businesses of all sizes in the cloud.

Thanks.
